A club built on a love of the game

Steve Williams and Ian Cole were inspired by a BBC Breakfast report on walking football in June 2012. They brought friends, family and former teammates together to try it in Bedford.

The first trial took place at the Hockey Centre on 24 September 2012. Ten players then attended the first regular Monday session at Bedford School on 8 October.

From those beginnings, the club welcomed players across the generations. In September 2024, Ian and Steve handed over its running to Mark Hay, Mark Tate and Mark Wesley.

Their work created a lasting football community in Bedford. Thank you, Steve and Ian.
