History
Where would we be without these two titans of the Bedford Walking Football scene?
One of the oldest Clubs in the country (we think) was formed 12 years ago be Steve Williams & Ian Cole.

After viewing Mike Bushell’s report from Bury F.C. on BBC Breakfast News in June 2012, friends Steve Williams and Ian Cole thought what a great idea Walking Football looked.
So armed with all their football contacts and ex-teammates they decided to organise Walking Football sessions in their home town of Bedford – one of the first clubs officially set up in the UK.
Buying their own kit and balls they gathered a few friends, relatives and the roped in the lads from Santaniellos, the local pizza restaurant, and gave it a try at the Hockey Centre on 24th September 2012.
The trial proved to be a success and by securing the all-weather facilities at Bedford School they were able to start the first of our regular sessions on Monday 8th October 2012, with 10 players.
Numbers built from that first night. It was decided to not limit ages which means sons & fathers play together with uncles and brothers and teammates from years past.

To date, The Club have been able to welcome teenagers through to septuagenarians.
Ian and Steve handed over the running of The Club to the three Mark’s – Hay, Tate & Wesley – in September 2024 leaving a healthy legacy of Walking Football in the town. Without them, The Club wouldn’t be in the strong position it is today.
Hats off gents – thanks for all the hard work over the years.
